After you figured out what you have, now is the point where you decide what you’re going to do with it. Do you eventfully want to place every thing on a set of disks telling your entire story? Or do you want to have a short dynamic piece  that will blow your friends and family away. Are you going to digitize your entire collection, and then decide what you want to make, or do you want to create your presentation piecemeal one set of slides or one reel of film at a time.  Some of this will be decided by your budget and how much material you have. If you have one or two rolls of film then you might as well digitize it all. If you have hundreds of slides you may want to do a bunch at a time. I recommend you find the oldest material and do that first.
